Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments (AEPA Social Studies) 40

The Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments (AEPA) exams are designed by the Arizona state board of education. The exams are used to confirm that individuals have the needed knowledge and skills to enter into the Arizona public school systems as an entry-level educator. The AEPA Social Studies test is administered by the National Evaluation Series (NES) to access teaching skills and knowledge required to teach middle grade social studies in public schools in the state of Arizona.


To register for AEPA social studies you would need to create an account online and check for preferred test locations. The test is available all year round based on scheduled appointment.

Exam Format

AEPA social studies test are administered as computer based test. It consist of 150 multiple choice questions and is timed for 3 hours. Scaled test results are provided immediately after the exam and the general required passing score is 220. Statements of result are mailed after 3 weeks of taking the exam.
