Need Help Studying for the Oklahoma Teacher Certification Exam (CEOE/OSAT) ?
The Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation (OCTP) created the Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators (CEOE) program in 1995. The CEOE is developed and administered by the Evaluation Systems group of Pearson. For more information please visit the CEOE website
Registration for the CEOE exams can be done via mail, internet and telephone.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education sets certification standards and requirements
Candidates should apply for certification with Oklahoma State Department of Education or contact the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation, telephone: (405) 525-2612
The registration fee for the CEOE Oklahoma General Education exam (OGET) is $75
The registration fee for the Oklahoma Professional Teaching Examination (OPTE) is $150
The registration fee for the Oklahoma Subject Area Tests (OSAT) is $90 per test
The CEOE is made up of three sections:
- Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET)
- Oklahoma Professional Teaching Examination (OPTE)
- Oklahoma Subject Area Tests (OSAT)
The Oklahoma Professional Teaching Examination (OPTE) is made up of 75 selected response questions plus a constructed-response section, made up of 3 written assignments
Each of the Oklahoma Subject Area Tests (OSAT) are made up of 1 constructed-response assignment and 80 selected-response questions.
The OSAT Cherokee language test has 8 constructed-response assignments
The OSAT tests for Blind/Visual Impairment, Agricultural Education, Marketing Education, Speech-Language Pathologist and Psychometrist is made up of 100 selected-response questions and no constructed-response assignments
The CEOE exam results are scored using a range within 100 and 300. The minimum required passing score is 240
Computer based tests options are now available for the following tests, OGET, OPTE: PK-8 and OPTE: 6-12
